Shadowban test: is your content flagged as a duplicate?
Drop the original and the posted version. See the 64-bit fingerprint distance, the way platforms compare, without uploading anything.
Original
Drop two files: the test starts by itself.
Version to test
No file at hand? Try an example:
100% local: your files never leave your browser. Thresholds are indicative, not any platform’s real ones.
How the test works
Drop two files
The original and the copy to test, photo or video. Nothing is uploaded: it all happens in your browser.
The fingerprint is computed
Each frame is shrunk, turned greyscale and summarised in 64 bits (a perceptual hash based on a cosine transform).
The distance is measured
We count the bits that differ. Under 9: likely duplicate. Over 16: distinct content. Mirroring is tested too.
Platforms don’t publish their thresholds or all their signals (audio, metadata, account behaviour). This test measures one criterion, the visual fingerprint, and gives an order of magnitude, not a guarantee.
Shadowban test by platform
Each platform compares content its own way. The test measures the visual fingerprint, the common basis of duplicate detection.
Instagram · shadowban test
Reels and posts: identical reposts lose reach and drop out of suggestions. Test your version before you repost it.
TikTok · shadowban test
TikTok sidelines videos already seen elsewhere. Compare your repost with the original to see if it passes as a duplicate.
Reddit · shadowban test
On Reddit, media reused across subs or accounts is spotted fast. Check the distance before you post.
Read the guideX (Twitter) · shadowban test
On X, near-identical media across accounts limits distribution. Measure the gap before you publish.
Signs of a shadowban
- Sudden drop in views and likes with no change in posting rhythm
- Posts missing from hashtags and the Explore tab
- Content invisible to people who don’t follow you
- Action limits or a warning on reposted content
What if the test says duplicate?
Renaming, re-exporting or flipping the image does not change the fingerprint. Klypsed generates genuinely different variants (image, sound, metadata) and measures the distance on every file, so you see the result before you post.

Shadowban and duplicate content questions
How do I know if my account is shadowbanned?
No outside tool can prove it: only the platform knows. Signs are a sudden drop in reach, posts missing from hashtags or from non-followers’ feeds. This test checks one common cause: content too close to something already posted.
Is my content flagged as a duplicate?
Drop the original and the posted version. Under 9 bits apart out of 64 means a likely duplicate, 9 to 16 a grey zone, beyond that distinct content.
How long does a shadowban last?
Creators report anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, sometimes until behaviour changes. Platforms give no official duration.
Is a simple mirror or a new file name enough?
No. Renaming or re-exporting leaves the fingerprint almost identical, and this test catches mirroring. The image itself has to change.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is computed in your browser with canvas; no file is sent or stored.
Does it work for Instagram, TikTok, Reddit or X?
Perceptual fingerprinting is a principle shared across platforms, but each has its own thresholds. The result is an indicator, not a guarantee.
