Installation

A security message during install? That’s normal.

Windows

  1. 01Run the Klypsed-setup.exe file you downloaded.
  2. 02If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
  3. 03Follow the installer, then open Klypsed from the Start menu.

macOS

  1. 01Open the .dmg file and drag Klypsed into the Applications folder.
  2. 02On first launch, if macOS says it can’t verify the developer, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click “Open Anyway”.
  3. 03Confirm one last time. Later launches work as usual.

Linux

  1. 01Make the file executable: chmod +x Klypsed-*.AppImage
  2. 02Double-click it or run it from the terminal.
  3. 03No system-wide installation needed.

Warnings

A security message during install? That’s normal.

Windows, macOS and browsers show a warning for any recent software they haven’t seen much of yet. Here’s exactly what to do, step by step.

Chrome or Edge, when downloading

In the browser

  1. 01Open the browser’s downloads list.
  2. 02Hover over the file, click “…”, then “Keep”.
  3. 03In Edge, then choose “Show more”, then “Keep anyway”.

When the installer first runs

Windows SmartScreen

  1. 01Click “More info”.
  2. 02Check that the app is named Klypsed.
  3. 03Click “Run anyway”.

When the app first opens

macOS Gatekeeper

  1. 01Click “OK”, without moving the app to the Bin.
  2. 02Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security.
  3. 03At the bottom of the page, click “Open Anyway”, then confirm.

Why these messages?

These protections judge software by its reputation: how many people have already installed it. Recent software therefore shows a warning, even when it’s safe, while that reputation builds up. On Windows, Klypsed installs in your user account, without administrator rights, and never launches when your computer starts.

Stay careful

  • Only download Klypsed from this page.
  • Never install a copy sent to you in a message or on a forum.
  • If in doubt, message us on Telegram before installing.
